Life Stream

2019.02

50'00"

video installation with sound

'Life Stream'is a video installation, which reflects how modern people are obsessed with digital device and social media. At the same time, these high tech products and applications expose personal privacy to the public. In this video I simulate the computer screen of a stalker, who is watching a stranger's daily life and writing down her routine. For the installation, I build up a scene of a working space that looks like someone is using the computer. By inviting audience to sit down becoming a part of the art work, they experience how is it like when they are peeping someone's privacy and how it relates to their own life.

The interactive installation offers audiences a chance to get a deeper understanding of my work through their sense, by listening and watching. This project continues the concept I explored on my first work of unit one 'I Am Watching You' , they both break the wall between public and private, and discuss about surveillance in the digital age.
